By posting your pedigree on the following forum

you are making it available for the Project Administrator

to post it on the Pedigree Page on this website

along with your contact information.

 

Format Instructions 

See the below information on how to send your pedigree.

 

  Please submit in the following format:

1. Full name of your earliest known male/female ancestor
2. birthdate
3. birthplace
4. spouse's name

Example:

Jan Adams, b 15 May, 1730, Worcester, South Africa, d 1795, m Ruth Van der Byl
    * Hilton Adams, b 20 Aug, 1768, Cape Town, South Africa, m Marie Van Wyck
         * Theodore Adams, b 1805, Cape Town, South Africa, d 1865, m Tina October
             * Jonathan Adams, b 1839, Paarl, South Africa, m Rosetta Abraham
                  * Joseph Adams, b 1865, Stellenbosch, South Africa, m Bernadine Davids
                       * Michael Adams, b 24 Feb 1897, Paarl, South Africa, m Josephine Meredith

You will do the same for both your maternal line and your paternal line.


  

 

Suggestions for Posting your Pedigree on this forum:

o        Post four pieces of information for each ancestor

o        Begin with the earliest generation

o        Use standard abbreviations: 

       m=married, b=born, d=died, c=circa, pr=province, co-country etc

o        Try to keep to one line per generation

o        Include only generations that have this family surname

o        Provide your name and email address as the pedigree provider

o        Provide the kit number and/or project code identity number if pedigree is for a tested participant

o        Use surname with each generation

o        Don’t use all caps

o        Don’t include anyone whose birthdate is after 1910, for privacy concerns.

o        Don’t number the generations
